Ashes of Love costars Luo Yunxi, Chen Yuqi and Zou Tingwei reunite in upcoming wuxia romance drama And The Winner is Love 月上重火, a loose adaption of the novel of the same name by Junzi Yize (Tianlai Zhiyuan).

Chong Xuezhi (Chen Yuqi), young master of Chonghuo Palace, leaves her home for a chance to experience the pugilist world (jianghu), and runs into Shangguan Tou (Luo Yunxi), master of the Yueshang Valley.

While outside, Chong Xuezhi finds out she has been banished from the palace after their treasured martial arts manual “Nine Techniques of the Lotus God” is stolen, and decides to track down the thief with the help of Shangguan Tou. After going through various trials and tribulations together, the travelling companions profess their love for each other and get married.

News spreads that the perpetrator has already mastered the martial arts technique, and is wreaking havoc through jianghu. The main couple discover that the culprit is in fact Muyuan (Zou Tingwei), guardian of Chonghuo Palace, and a bloody battle ensues.

Camera were slated to begin rolling last August, but a disagreement between the producers and original screenwriter Rao Jun (Lost Love in Times) led to a delay in production. With a brand new crew and cast, the 50 episode drama just began filming with He Shupei (The Legend of Dugu) at the helm.

I wouldn’t have minded if Ashes of Love just paired Liuying with the Night Deity instead of Muci (it’s been nine months, and I’m still not over Runyu and his story arc).
