Hu Ge (Game of Hunting), who recently wrapped up filming Wild Goose Lake, guest stars in director Shunji Iwai’s first Chinese-language feature Last Letter, which has recently released character posters and a trailer ahead of its premiere on November 9th at the Golden Horse Film Festival. Zhou Xun plays the lead, a woman who reunites with her high school crush at a class reunion.
All Yuan Zhinan has left behind when she passed away is a letter and an invitation to a school reunion. Attending the reunion in lieu of her late elder sister, Zhihua (Zhou Xun) accidentally runs in Yin Chuan (Qin Hao), on whom she had a crush on in her youth. As old memories are evoked, and correspondences travel through different contexts and times, Zhihua slowly uncovers the intricate story of the trio. — Source
Zhou Xun, Zhang Zifeng and Shunji Iwai have been nominated in the Best Leading Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay categories respectively.
Du Jiang as Zhou Wentao
Zhang Zifeng as Zhou Xun’s younger counterpart
Deng Enxi as teen Yuan Zhinan
Hu Ge as Zhang Chao
Tan Zhuo (Dying to Survive, Story of Yanxi Palace) as Ji Hong
Wu Yanshu (Love Education) as Chen Guizhi
Those have to be the most drab character promo posters I’ve seen in a while, but the trailer looks sufficiently intriguing.
