  1. Is Feng Zhiwei really gone, and Ning Yi never to have her? A horrible ending . . . You have to fix this! Even if its a fantasy ending of what COULD have been . . .

  2. Finished watching the two eps. This series is beautiful. I’m going to go there and say the costumes and lighting are better than both Nirvana in Fire and Storm Prophecy. I like how many of the women’s clothes and makeup look more everyday while still looking beautiful.

Also I already ship Feng Zhiwei X Zhuyin.

    • I am really loving this so far. I have waited so long for something of this quality and caliber since Tribes and empires was so disappointing. Ni Ni and Chen Kun are both doing so well. Does anyone else feel like the male costumes are vaguely Japanese? I don’t know if this is intentional to highlight the division between the three characters but it was kind of jarring when I first saw it.

  3. Haven’t had time to watch the full episodes yet but watched the two clips of the two leads first two meetings on Weibo and it reinforces the idea that Ni Ni would’ve been the perfect Mulan. Her voice and styling and demeanor is kind of perfect. I love how she acts “masculine” without being overly dramatic/macho but makes it a part of her natural personality. Easily the most believable “ female crossdressing as male” I’ve seen from a Chinese drama.

  4. First time in years I’m watching a drama series live, and am liking everything so far. Acting is more than solid, and the cinematography is gorgeous. Pacing’s a bit slow, but there are 68 episodes remaining…

  5. Oh my, the stills are more and more jaw-dropping 😲 Aside from the romance and ambitions between our leading pair, I am lookong forward to the performance of Bai Jingting as a mute guard (I guess he will mostly act with his eyes) and Zhang Xiaochen as Helian Zheng who is an affectionate and devoted man to Feng Zhiwei. Totally different from his manipulative role in Tribes and Empires 😆
