Liu Yifei (Once Upon A Time) and Feng Shaofeng (The Starry Night, The Starry Sea 2) played Yu Ji and Xiang Yu respectively in White Vengeance, and will be starring opposite each other again in fantasy rom-com Hanson and the Beast 二代妖精.
Bai Qianchu (Liu Yifei) is an 87-year-old arctic fox demon who enters the human world to repay a debt of gratitude. She falls madly in love with the penniless zookeeper Yuan Shuai (Feng Shaofeng), a former fuerdai (rich second generation) who goes on dates with daughters of rich businessmen in order to pay back his debts.
However, their romance is forbidden by the laws of the demon world and Bai Qianchu is captured by her leader Yun Zhonghe (Li Guangjie) and his lackey Hong Sicong (Guo Jingfei). Yuan Shuai follows them into the land of demons, and becomes entangled in a conspiracy.
Hanson and the Beast is film editor and up-and-coming director Xiao Yang’s (The Ark of Mr. Chow) second solo project, and will be released on December 29th.
I hate to say it, but I think I’ll want to watch this movie. The poster had LOL!
Off topic comment here, but does anyone know when Ruyi is coming out? Ruyi’s Royal Love/The Legend of Ruyi? It was scheduled for the 20th, but there’s nothing on youku or anywhere for that matter.
Ruyi is still going through the censors. Late December was never a confirmed time slot – we’ll probably see it early next year if all goes well.
