Promo Round-up: Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy

It’s here! It’s finally here! Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecyalso known as the drama with the best trailers ever, is going to premiere tonight at 8pm (CN time) on streaming sites Tencent, iQiyi and Youku.

The entire story is set in Novoland, a fantasy world comprising of mortals (who either live in the prosperous Eastern Land or the nomadic Eight Tribes), dwarves (河洛), the winged people (羽), spirits (魅), titans (夸父) and merfolk (鲛).

The 80 episode drama will revolve around the friendship between a half-spirit half-human prince with a cursed fate (Huang Xuan), a general’s son (Shawn Dou) who is fated to become emperor and the heir of a nomadic tribe (Zhou Yiwei) who wants to rise up against the ruling dynasty.

According to author Jin Hezai, who has watched the entire drama, Tribes and Empires will end with the Muru family being exiled and Muyun Sheng ascending the throne before escaping the palace to look for Panxi. If commercially successful, there will probably be a sequel that will take its story from the second half of the novel.]

  1. Is open ending the new trend now? Sheesh. First PA and now this.
    Are they confident they can get back the whole cast though? Esp when Huang Xuan and Shawn Dou are such busy people.

    • I think it’s because the book series was never finished. It’s like Game of Thrones except the scriptwriters don’t know what happens and are too lazy to make up the rest of plot.


    Wait what 80 episodes and only half the novel? I mean I know the novel doesn’t exactly give an ending but…
