Hero’s Dream 天意之秦天宝鉴 is based on Qian Lifang’s sci-fi novel of the same name, and stars Ou Hao as a young Han Xin, who is swept up in the Chu-Han contention towards the end of the Qin Dynasty.

From the trailer, it seems like Han Xin joins Xiang Yu (Yu Jiwei) in his uprising against the tyrannical emperor (Qiao Zhenyu) after finding out his lover Ji Jiang (Hai Ling) committed suicide due to being humiliated by Ying Zheng.

A mysterious figure approaches Han Xin, promising to bring back Ji Jiang and help him rise up the ranks if he would make a deal with the gods. True to their word, Han Xin soon meets Ji Jiang’s doppelganger Qian Xiaofang, and is also recruited by Liu Bang’s (Zhang Danfeng) trusted advisor Xiao He (Li Gan) after leaving Xiang Yu.

Tang Yan (The Princess Weiyoung) guest stars as Nvxi, the all-powerful deity who wants to manipulate the course of history. Costars include Zhang Rui (Tracks in the Snowy Forest) as assassin Jing Ke and Mi Lu (A Chinese Odyssey) as Liu Bang’s empress Lv Zhi

Helmed by Ding Yangguo (Song of Phoenix), the 36 episode web drama will air on Youku sometime next year.
