Only Side By Side With You 南方有乔木 is based on Xiaohu Ruwei’s novel of the same name and stars Bai Baihe (I Belonged To You) as Nan Qiao, a talented and aloof fuerdai (second generation nouveau riche) who designs drones. William Chan (L.O.R.D) will play Shi Yue, the man who befriends her with ulterior motives but falls in love with her instead.
Nan Qiao (Bai Baihe) has an ugly breakup with cheating fiance Zhou Ran, who then withdraws all his capital from her drone designing business and prevents other potential investors from funding the company.
Shi Yue (William Chan) decides to invest in Nan Qiao’s company after discovering that she may be the reason why he went from aspiring soldier to gigolo and nightclub owner. However Shi Yue’s revenge plans fall by the wayside when he develops romantic feelings for Nan Qiao.
The 3o episode drama is directed by Lin Yan (Hello Joann, Grow Up) and penned by new writers Qiao Bingqing (Would You Marry Me) and Zhang Min.
