Official cast posters for Nirvana in Fire sequel

I love how Daylight Entertainment just reveals the leads in one go.

Nirvana in Fire: The Wind Blows in Changlin 琅琊榜之风起长林 has released posters for all its main actors, which include Huang Xiaoming (Mission Milano), Liu Haoran (Detective Chinatown) and Tong Liya (Run for Love) among others. The drama will be split into two seasons, and each one will have 15 episodes.

The first season will revolve around Huang Xiaoming’s Xiao Pingzhang, the heir apparent to Sun Chun’s Prince Changlin Xiao Tingsheng (Prince Qi’s son, and student of Mei Changsu in the original). Tong Liya is set to star as Meng Qianxue, niece of General Meng Zhi and consort to Xiao Pingzhang. Both Huang Xiaoming and Tong Liya are listed as special guests, so I’m assuming they’ll only be appearing in the first half of the drama.

The second season continues from the first, but will shift its focus to Liu Haoran’s character Xiao Pingjing, the younger brother of Xiao Pingzhang. Co-stars include Wu Haochen as Xiao Yuanqi, Mei Ting as Empress Xun, Zhang Bo as Yu Feizhan, Guo Jingfei as Pu Yangying and Qiao Xin as Xun Anru.

The spin-off/sequel is led by producer Hou Hongliang, directors Kong Sheng and Li Xue and screenwriter Hai Yan. The Wind Blows in Changlin is slated to broadcast on video streaming site iQiyi as well as satellite channels Dragon TV and Beijing TV in 2017.
