  1. Dropping in to say hi~~

Hope to see more thought-provoking C-dramas in the future since romances and epics are not quite my cup of tea. Indeed, someone here has been hoping against hope that Les Interprètes would give a soulful portrayal of the encounters between French and Chinese cultures, like what American Dreams in China (2013) did for American and Chinese cultures. This is not to say that the film was perfect. For one, the perception of how Westerners would react to Chinese dedication to mechanical memorization in the film is too romantic in my view, although the psyches of the Mainlanders accord exactly with what I have gleaned from numerous contemporary writings from China in the past. The important point is the effort.
