The Rise of Phoenixes 凰权 is preparing to start filming based on the novel of the same name by Tianxia Guiyuan 天下归元. Those who have read the original source may look forward to developments on this projects.

Seems to be about a poor girl named Feng Zhiwei who suffers in a household I am guessing as a servant and eventually gets kicked out. She dresses herself as a man and joins the Academies, gaining much knowledge and ability and also learning about her birth secret of being an orphan from a fallen dynasty. The situation eventually turns against her and she is forced to become enemies with her lover but she eventually learns to put aside vengeance and hatred and work for the greater good, also saving herself and earning her happiness.
I quite enjoyed the book so looking forward to see who will be casted as the main characters.
I believe it has already been confirmed to be Chen Kun and Liu ShiShi…interesting pair I would say.
That would be a great pairing (and there is a wonderful fan-made MV starring those two) but unfortunately it’s a normal promotion tactic to “confirm” actors/actresses out of nowhere. So far no names have been attached to this project.
