Written by Nobel Prize winner Mo Yan, the title borrows from the poem by Qu Yuan as he longs for his home and Emperor while in exile. The title literally means “Longing for the Beauty.”

Song of Phoenix commemorates the death of its lead character, poet Qu Yuan (Ma Ke, Yiyang Qianxi) by releasing its first trailer today.  The food associated with the Duanwu festival, the glutinous rice dessert zongzi, is eaten in honor of Qu Yuan.   The series also stars Qiao Zhenyu, Zhang Xinyu, Liu Yun, Lan Xi, and Lee Hyunjae.

May you have a healthy and prosperous Duanwu Festival from us, too!
