Zheng Shuang is adorably pouty as Kangxi’s beloved consort.
Did anyone watch Zheng Shuang and Hawick Lau‘s drama, Cage of Love? The two are co-starring again in upcoming drama “Chronicle of Life,” travelling from the Republican era to the Qing dynasty as Hawick takes on the role of Kangxi. Chronicle of Life is adapted from the novel “A Lonely Space, A Night Longing for Spring 《寂寞空庭春欲晚》. The cast is rounded out by Zhang Binbin, as Nalan Rongnuo, Mi Xue as Kangxi’s grandmother the Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang, and Zhang Xiaochen as Zheng Shuang’s older brother. Zheng Shuang is a pretty girl. Alhough she had a surgery on her face and had been taken off then, she looks even better now compared to before all the plastic done. I like to watch her.
I also do not keen to see zheng and Lau paired up gain – no chemistry. If it is Jing Boran to play Kangxi it will be fantastic!
I’m totally not looking forward to Hawick and ZS’ collaboration again when they basically had no chemistry in Cage of Love. It also doesn’t help that they look like a pair of father and daughter. *Groans*
Isn’t Nalan Rongnuo = Nalan Xingde?
Yes, but I guess they changed the name to avoid historical controversies?
When I watched Secret History of Kangxi, Nalan Xingde’s parents called him Rongnuo but he would introduced himself as Nalan Xingde to others. So I guess Rongnuo is something like his middle name?
Rongnuo was actually Nalan Xingde’s courtesy name, I searched wiki haha.
I’m still pretty meh about Hawick :( But hoping to give this drama a go when it comes out because I’m a fan of Zheng Shuang. I did start Cage of Love but stopped at around ep 4!
Same, I dropped it somewhere at like episode 3. I forgot. I was so confused and didn’t really want to follow through.
