This week, we take a different look at Tang dynasty-inspired clothing from Mr. Chen’s Chinese Photo Studio 陳先生的復古照相館. One of the things you will probably notice is the attention put into historical details. For example, Tang dynasty China is famous for being one of the periods of time when having a fuller figure was valued as opposed to being thin which seems to be the ideal for a lot of Chinese history. Also, the freedom of women in their dress (even “cross-dressing” if that term can be applied to this era) and attention to makeup (which brings up the point that maybe some makeup styles aren’t the most suitable for life today).
