Why waste the spinal cords of your enemies when you can use them for axes?
Unwilling to be one of the four upcoming dramas about Justice Bao or who knows how many with Wu Zetian, director Zhang Jizhong decides to go further in history for inspiration with his latest film/drama of prehistorical heroes. First up will be The Hero Chi You 英雄时代:魔尊蚩尤, about the legendary tribal leader who, after defeat by the Yellow Emperor, retreated South to become the ancestors of the Hmong.
The project was originally touted as a TV series titled The Age of Heroes 英雄时代, but now it’s taking a part of the story and calling it a movie. Let’s hope it’s because the series was so good that they decided it was film-worthy.

I found out the real story of chi you: the real chi you of the nine li tribes was the great Cyrus of the bible, the archaemenid king of the great Persian empire before the birth of Christ . And the Persians that made up the nine li tribes were actually the nine tribes of Israel that had been scattered by the Assyrians and then Babylonians. One tribe was left on its own but still keeping close ties with the 9 li tribes: it was Dan tribe . The reason why the nine tribes are called li is because each tribe had the priests from the tribe of Levi divided among themselves according to the bible. And Levi became Li after 200 years of wandering. And Persia meant the “far Issak (people)” from Isaac the father of Israel, also known as Jacob who fathered the 12 tribes of Israel. Cyrus himself was a Li from the tribe of Ephraim and his mom was a zadokite Li: Cyrus was there’re fire not just king but also the high priest of Israel known as Persia then. And he is the one who started the last name Cha/Chang/Tchang. And so, when Cyrus was about to take over all Babylonia empire, the nine tribes were all living in the east side of Asia with Ephraim tribe ( the leader tribe of Cyrus , in Bactria and khazakshstan areas, while Mongolia was Manasseh tribe , and from Manasseh down south were the rest of the tribes all the way to Southeast Asia coastlands . It so happened that Simeon tribe got the middle and eastern coast middle of Asia . When Cyrus was preparing to invade their enemies, the tribe of Judah and Benjamin and the leader clan of Zadok that is really the leader clan of all the Levites or Lis had joined them and were assigned a share in the land of Simeon tribe. Then, Cyrus’s own brother decided to take over Simeon land and be the leader of the Simeons: he is the one known as chi you for the Hmong who were defeated for that brother was indeed wicked and was actually trying to rebel against Cyrus (known as the yellow emperor and you the great and chi you depending of who is telling the story) and that same brother also hated the Jews apparently and did invade their territory . And to make things worse, he betrayed the very people he said he was going to lead for he made all the simeonites ( the original Hmongs) become the common people with the defeated Jews of the land of Simeon while he and his close relatives were now the nobles and leaders of the land of Simeon. When Cyrus found out what happened, he went to battle against his evil brother and sadly did kill him. Then Cyrus set up some of his own trusted men and their families to watch over Simeon land and the whole east Asia while Cyrus and most of the Jews and the ephraimites would stay in the west side : Central Asia. Then Persia under Cyrus became a worldwide empire, with the Carthage colony in Africa, the colony of Greece in Europe and the Phoenicians were ruled by Pygmalion, an Israelite or a Persian as they were known at that time. Alexander the Great from Macedonia was related to the Persian royals but was an Assyrian by his mom’s side and lived in Macedonia , the European settlement of the tribe of the Royal Danites (tribe of Dan). He managed through deceit and corruption to gather the colony of Greece to attack the original Persian territory. When the Greeks realized they had been duped by Alexander to fight their own people mistakenly, they stopped supporting Alexander and the war against the Persians. However the Macedonians and Assyrians under Alexander contained the war and even killed many of the Greeks so they can become the new royals instead of the lineage of the Persian kings which Carthagians and Greeks were from. Alexander eventually became the new emperor and destroyed and twisted the truth of the history of how the Persian empire came to be and China and all the ancient “Asian” people came to be. And Alexander hated the Levites, especially the Royal Levites: the real chi you and the Kings after him , their families, all the zadokites, and they were all living in Simeon land also known as China later. The many persecuted Hmongs are the people who lived in Simeon land during those times and afterwards: some are the original simeonites from Simeon tribe, others are the Jews of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, others from Ephraim and Manasseh when they were protecting the last royal family of Persia, and the royal family members themselves with their Levites kins zadokites and other loyal Levites, including the Greeks who were direct relatives of the royal family. Many of the Persians had rebelled at the time of Alexander and so it was easy for him to defeat Persia . And his rule did not last as more civil tumult kept rising up and the whole emote got split into four main territories .
And to add to all this story of who chi you really was, the reason for all the troubles and the loss of the empire was due to the people ‘s sins as a majority : many were no longer worshipping the real god: the god of Israel of the bible which in China is known as shuangdi and in Hmong as yaw-shao. And the Mandate of Heaven is actually the Mandate of Heaven that Cyrus got : read the bible in the book of Ezra. The Chinese think they had a couple it so kings with that mandate name but it is a distortion from the time of Alexander and afterwards. There was only one King who had that mandate and it was Cyrus and China was Cyrus ‘s land overseeing all east Asia. The Koreans believe they are the ones who brought the first writing system in east Asia and know they used to have a great empire that reached to even the Tibetan mountains : all this is because Chinese and Koreans and all the eastern Asians were the same family under Cyrus ! They were the Persians who for a while did come back to God of the bible and obeyed him, but sadly many forsook God later and God could no longer bless them for he is a righteous God! And invaders and destruction and civil warfare and confusion came as a result. So if anything we need to learn from history is this: know who God really is, know the truth, and choose God and his ways for his ways are really best for life and true love, know and surrender to Jesus who is God’s only begotten son who really came to rescue our souls, read and understand and believe the bible( the Septuagint bible is the best by far in terms of details , but any bible is great to start for an overall understanding). And God dies love every human being : we each have an opportunity to know and live with God and experience what life is really about.

Also the tv show of the Greeks versus the Persians is so inaccurate: the Persian King was not a naked slave like bald man. In fact the Persian King who fought Alexander was Xerxes who had married Esther whom the Chinese call as “the queen of the West”! The real naked guy was really Alexander , the deceiver!
Super hard to find this movie. Is someone trying real hard to not release this movie?
It’s interesting, in Hmong, Chi You means, Grandfather, and Huang di means King….I truly do wonder the history and background of these great leaders. But at the end of the day….I feel they really are just bitter families. And that goes for everything in life, as the human race, and what not.

What are they saying? That the hmong people are barbarians. This is the same as depicting native Americans as savages.

If you’re referring to clothing, everyone in the show looks like that, be it the tribes of Yan Di or Huang Di or You Chi. I think it’s just generic prehistoric styling since we don’t actually know how they dressed (assuming they existed at all).
I think Bee fails to realize that Chi You, Huang Di, and Yan Di are all FOREFATHERS of this land we call China. And that means were talking old school……basically stone age era/ Caveman-like era.

Will this be aired in Chinese or is this an English movie?
There’s no news of an airing date yet. Filming finished not so long ago, and I think the special effects would probably take at least a year for this type of movie.
If it’s based on the TV series, it should be in Chinese.

It vaguely reminds me of ‘Hercules’ and ‘Xena: Princess Warrior’. That voice-over voice was weird though.

I’m quite confused… Zhang Jinyong is filming also a movie about HuangDi. Are these two movies related somehow?
I think it’s the same thing… At least the cast is identical? I’m confused, too, since 英雄时代 is suppose to be a drama about Huangdi and Yandi…
Huangdi and Yandi are rivals/enemies of Chi You
They weren’t enemies! They were different tribes fighting for control of the central plains. They’re more like bitter families.
No and yes Huangdi was a brother or someone related to Chi You (my great great grandfather) but because of power Huangdi broke off from Chi You’s tribe and that’s when the three nation was established. Hsia, Shang, and Chou. Chi you had the opportunity to govern all 81 clans each with 9 clan leaders which it’s system was consider the nine heavens. Upon the generals these are their names. Fang Yi, Huang Yi, Pai Yi, Ch’ih You (Yi), Hsuan Yi, Feng Yi, Yang Yi, Ch’uan Yi, Yu Yi. Addition clan leaders are Huaj Yi, and San Shou Yi. All of these clan leader have their own responsibility over 9 individual clans and reports to Chi You if there were to have dispute within the land or family.
but the trailer I saw is called 炎黄大帝(or传奇) and ChiYou was definitely more gross that this one…
