Jane Zhang ventures into Wonderland with her new Forever MV

Pretty scenery, happy Jane, a little ambassador dressed in fairytale clothing make for a gorgeous MV

Most people trifle with a sixth sense, but Jane Zhang goes further. Her latest album is called “Seventh Sense 第七感,” of which the song “Forever 永远” is part. The whimsical MV has high production quality, with giant chessboards for roads and flying checker pieces, huge conch shells, and (possibly) clones of the White Rabbit’s stopwatch serving as a background for all the back up dancers and Singing Janes. Find the translation and a few more stills below the cut.

I also felt love spreading
Tasting very sweet
I’m afraid that its effect has an expiration date
The aftertaste is so strong, but the future is far
Again and again in my dreams
I search for a way to forever play a person’s heartstrings

Everyone looks forward to having a person by their side
(To) the promises once made taking a real form
Yet some things will change, like habits or the seasons
Whether happiness is ephermal or for ever, how can I tell the difference?
So can we love forever
can we love forever
Time will always like to test us
So can we love forever
Promises kindle mesmerizing rays of light
Tightly bond to my fingertips

In the night sky of love the glorious stars are dots
Before the shooting stars fade away
Can you wish for forever
The courage you have, give me a little
Just that little
Then I can stop caring about all else

Everyone looks forward to having a person by their side
Each of those promises we made, are one by one realized
Yet some things will change, like habits or the seasons
Whether happiness is ephermal or for ever, how can I tell the difference?
So can we love forever
can we love forever
Time will always like to test us
So can we love forever
Promises kindle mesmerizing rays of light
Tightly bond to my fingertips

Who can predict what tomorrow will be?
Who can guarantee for a lifetime, that a warm heart won’t become cool?
Yet some things will change, like habits or the seasons
But the story that belongs to us has no ending
So can we love forever
can we love forever

Can we withstand the test of time
So can we love forever
Promises kindle mesmerizing rays of light
Tightly bond to my fingertips

  1. I like everything except for the black leather outfit. It’s kind of out of place with the rest of the MV. I actually really like this song, and I think the arrangement is a huge improvement from some of her previous songs.

(Speaking of good arrangements, has anyone listened to Li Yuchun’s arrangement? Totally blown away.)

    • I have to agree with you :( I played the video mostly for the MV…which was really pretty xD This is the opposite of Jiang Yirong’s Armed for me

  2. For some reason, I just really dislike the way she pronounces anything that starts with a “j” or “x” sound. She does it like somebody who can’t speak Chinese very well. I have to admit, she’s a pretty good singer, but to me, the pronunciation really sticks out like a sore thumb…

    • Haha, I listened to the song again after reading your comment so I could pay special attention to all the j and x sounds xD

    • I think it’s just her style… I remember noticing it when she performed “I Believe” at that Korean awards ceremony a few years back.

Or maybe it’s a hint of a Sichuanese accent? idk. I watched a random interview with her on YouTube, and the different j/x pronunciation is sort of there, but not as pronounced. But I have no idea what Sichuanese accents sound like.
