Do Yang Mi and Zhang Han know about this?
Republican series The Cage of Love 抓住彩虹的男人 released its first set of stills today, featuring Zheng Shuang, Hawick Lau, and Li Xuedong. The series is scripted and produced by Tonghua (Bu Bu Jing Xin) and directed by the head director of Bu Bu Jing Xin.
The Republican-era series has Hawick Lau in what he does best – sadistic businessman seeking revenge – while Zheng Shuang plays the daughter of his “enemy” who instead has her heart set on her childhood love. I’m now not sure if it’s based on FeiWoSiChun’ book even though the synopsis reads just like it.
Actually really looking forward to this, I hope Tonghua doesn’t let us down ^^

But better Zheng Shuang than Yuan Shan Shan anyday, so I’m still grateful! :D
I think Yuan Shanshan is fine the way she looks, and she’s not a terrible actress. She just got screwed over playing supposedly drop dead gorgeous women, of which she’s not one. I’m actually looking forward to her next modern series with Kimi Qiao and Zhou Fang.
I think it’s just that I’ve disliked some of the roles she’s played to the point that I couldn’t finish the series. Thus she just left that really annoying impression on me.
YSS looks fine to me too but she doesn’t have the lead aura/charms that I can buy, she also look older than Yang Mi, Liu Shi Shi and other popular leading actress. It’s just a matter of personal preference, plus…. Yu Zheng is dragging her down with him, I can’t stand him more than YSS.
YSS is a very drippy actress; not in terms of being teary but she just has a very wet blanket aura and doesn’t know how to be 活泼 without it looking forced.
Still not used to her face…
Anyway, in the small thumbnail, Harwick’s birdy clothes looked like torn/dirty patches. Hmm
I think it’s actually mostly her lack of bangs that makes the difference in her look. The only thing I noticed about her difference is a bigger forehead and thicker lips, but I think the first is probably because she always had bangs before and now she doesn’t.
