Lots of goodies in this Weibo round-up, including two dating announcements! But first, let’s kick it off with a few Mother’s Day posts, some touching and some silly…

Meteor Shower actor Yu Haoming wrote a poignant message for his mother, who was with him every step of the way after he was injured in an explosion in 2010 when filming a drama with S.H.E’s Selina. After being hospitalized with numerous third-degree burns, his mother personally cooked every meal for him and brought it to the hospital for him to eat. Haoming shared in a recent interview that his mom is still in the habit of calling him a few times a day to check up on him.

And for those of you wondering what Haoming is up to, he just started filming a drama called Before the Rain (暴雨将至), which also stars Huang Zhizhong and Jordan Chan.

Switching to silliness, have Tony Yang, whom we’re all anticipating in The Lady & The Liar (千金女賊). This year, he got a cake from his mom on Mother’s Day. Uh, baby, I think you’ve got the concept of Mother’s Day backwards…

And some cuteness, a photo of little Ni Ni and her mother. I keep thinking her mom looks like a certain actress, but I can’t quite put my finger on the name. Either way, Ni Ni is absolutely adorable!

Speaking of mothers, check out how Han Han‘s mother once dressed him up when he was little. Thanks to this dashing photo, Han Han’s Weibo fans have started calling him National Mother-in-Law (as opposed to his previous nickname, National Father-in-Law).

To show his support for the Never Meet Again (后会无期) director, Feng Shaofeng published a charming photo of himself playing with a doll. Raise your hand if you think Feng Shaofeng is prettier than that doll. :P

I heard that yesterday, there was a Weibo post that triggered a murder case and someone being reduced to a mother-in-law, so I am no longer afraid! After all, someone has already cushioned the blow from the knife. Everyone has immoral childhood photos. Uploading.

In other cute couple news, two actor-actress pairs went public with their relationship since our last update.

The first is Li Sheng and Li Jiahang, who met on the set of New Huan Zhu Ge Ge (新还珠格格) four years ago. It’s kind of mind-boggling, because that means Xiao Yanzi is now with Fu Erkang, but they do make a cute pair.

Li Jiahang: Thankful for having you on this road. You are the best gift that Heaven could have bestowed upon me. Thanks to everyone for their support. We will be well.

Slightly more high-profile is Zhou Xun, who used her studio’s official Weibo to announce that she is dating Chinese-American actor Archie Kao. I’ve never seen him in anything (not surprising, since I don’t watch American television), but he’s been in CSI, Power Rangers, and Chicago P.D., and he also acted in Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. Rumor has it they’re planning to get married within the year.

The best part of the announcement is that Zhou Xun pretty much just put up a photo introducing him and then left a link to Archie’s Baike page (it’s like the Chinese version of Wikipedia). Thanks for saving us from having to Google or Baidu him, Zhou Xun. :B

They may be a fan couple only, but Tian Liang and Zhang Liang recently had a long-awaited reunion with Jimmy Lin. Sure, they may not be returning to season two of Where Are We Going? Dad (爸爸去哪儿), but I guess this is the next best thing.

#Where Are We Going? Dad# So difficult, but the dads who hadn’t met in a long time finally saw each other in Beijing. Brother Tao left first because he had to film a night scene, and Director Wang was unable to attend because he was in Japan. I think that if there is the chance, we should still meet up and chat. For example, we haven’t taken a photo in so long. How come the pictures of #Zhang Liang Ying# always turn out so weird?

If you watched Where Are We Going? Dad and thought being a dad was the best thing ever, you… might want to reconsider, as Du Chun is learning. He’s participating in a show called Chinese Football Dream (中国足球梦), which will feature seven celebrity father-child pairs and show how they get trained by a soccer professional. The show is scheduled to begin airing on May 24th, and some of the parents include TV host Na Wei, soccer goalkeeper Han Xu, Olympic fencing champion Zhong Man, TV host Tian Yuan, and ex-child actor Xiao Bin Bin.

Du Chun said he was initially very hesitant about being a participant in the show, since he has no children of his own, nor does he have much experience dealing with kids. But the experience doesn’t seem to have scared him off, since he said he plans to get married before he turns 35. (He’s 33 now and in a steady relationship.)

Saw a reflection of me being a father in the future

We’ll probably never see this father-son pair on a show — it was surprising enough to see Chen Kun upload a photo of himself with his son, Youyou, on his new Instagram account. Youyou turned 12 this past Valentine’s Day.

Did anyone get to watch Lin Gengxin and Zhou Dongu in My Old Classmate (同桌的你)? For those of you who think Lin Gengxin looks a wee bit too old to be playing a high school or college student, he actually thinks the same.

This is my first time, and my last time, playing a student. After this, I may have to play the father of a student, ohhh… As for us graduates, the campus era that we can’t return to is the most pure and simple. Those who haven’t yet graduated, cherish it. The movie will be released tomorrow. I hope this movie will give everyone some memories of spring.

And as a reminder of how old we all are, Wang Junkai of TF Boys uploaded a couple of photos of himself studying for zhongkao, the middle-school exams. Junkai turns 15 years old in September.

There’s one more month until zhongkao. Recently, it’s been really tiring reviewing, so I have to strike a balance between work and rest. Have to hit the books again soon!
