The New Year concert on Dragon TV 东方卫视, Shanghai based television channel, is another must watch concert. The show featured Chinese Idol contestants, Han Hong 韩红, actor/singer/judge Huang Xiaoming 黄晓明 PKing singer/actor/MC Show Luo 罗志祥. Also in attendance is Taiwanese girl idol women musical group S.H.E, going into their 13th year together and still going strong even as married women (Ella 陈嘉桦 and Selina 任家萱). It wouldn’t be a party without some pretty faces – representing the girls is Shanghai based theater girl group SNH48, and representing the dudes is SM boybands Super Junior-M and EXO-M. The concert also featured special performances from Richie Ren 任贤齐 and Jonathan Lee 李宗盛.

Shanghai based girl group SNH48 seems to have brought the trainees along for the performance. There are so many people on stage I don’t know who’s part of the girl group and who’s part of the backup… I’m sure they are great to watch live though.

Following the performance is a song mashup by Chinese idol contestants. Who can name all the songs in the mashup?

Huang Xiaoming 黄晓明 attemping to sing and dance to his singles MOOPA and MY GIRL. I know the choreography (?) for My Girl is supposed to be sexy, but I can’t stop laughing at how awkward Huang Xiaoming looks when his “dancing” with his two partners.

After watching Huang Xiaoming dance anyone would seem to be the Kind of Dance, but there’s only one Show Luo 罗志祥. Xiao Zhu performed Dancing Outlaw 舞法舞天, One Man Show 一枝独秀, Fantasy 爱投罗网.

And who can resist pitting Huang Xiaoming 黄晓明 and Show Luo 罗志祥 against each other for a PK round. Work it!

Who wants to see Chinese Idol judge Han Hong 韩红 PK Huang Qishan 黄绮珊?

EXO-M performing (to the really loud backtrack of) First Snow 初雪. The whole time I can’t help but imagine what the acoustic version of this song would song like. Their senior labelmate SJM performed Go, a song composed by NoizeBank.

Jonathan Lee 李宗盛 join his student Li Jianqing 李剑青 for Hurriedly 匆匆, a song produced by the young emerging singer/composer. I’m in love with song! I NEED this song on my ipod NOW!!

The ending act by Jonathan Lee 李宗盛, Richie Ren 任贤齐, and Li Jianqing 李剑青 really warms your heart and puts a smile on our face.
