It seems appropriate that the news of death be follow by news of life. Lu Yi, of the upcoming Three Kingdoms series and the first mainland Chinese actor that I really liked, and his actress wife, Bao Lei have welcomed into the world their new baby girl. Congratulations! Our baby was born!

After so much time of happily waiting, our baby was finally born! Bao Lei and I’s bundle of joy was born today. The mother is peaceful. I hurried here at the first chance to let people know. :D

Thank you to my wife Bao Lei, thank you to our parents, and thank you to everyone who wished us well. Seeing the baby come out, my heart was filled with emotions; this little life will make me and Bao hang on to her whim, protecting her for life! The extension of yourself, how wonderful that is!

Chinese actress Bao Lei, wife of TV heartthrob Lu Yi, gave birth to a baby girl weighing 3.2 kilograms in the early hours of Sunday morning in Shanghai, Lu’s manager told sina.com.

The baby’s name has not yet been revealed.

The new father had been waiting outside the delivery room and was quite excited, his manager said. He has asked for maternity leave from the historical series “Romance of the Three Kingdoms”, which started shooting in east China’s Zhejiang Province at the end of September.

Lu Yi and Bao Lei, both 32, were classmates at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. They tied the knot in 2006 and the new born is their first child.

Bao Lei said earlier she would quit showbiz after the baby was born.
